CADE!!!!!!!!!!!
Kennedy loves CADE! She was his shadow the entire time we were in Portland. She wanted him to be her boyfriend, marry her, move to Kentucky, etc.. She was not happy when we said that he was her cousin and they couldn't get married. They were really cute and had a great time together. Kennedy gets so excited every time she sees this picture of Cade and herself in Uncle Mike's hot tub. We had so much fun with the Chandler family and miss getting to hang out with them and have Sunday dinners with them. We wish that we could have moved them to Kentucky with us!
Aunt Kimber, Uncle Chad, Nana, and Papa
We were so excited that Kimber and Chad could be in Portland the same time that we were visiting. We don't get to see them very often and love every chance we get. They are so good with the kids and so fun to be around. Thanks Aunt Kimber for all the great jewelry.
It was nice to stay with Nana and Papa this visit, it gave us all time to visit with Papa and spend quality time with Nana. We loved coming to Portland to see our family but also love when they visit Kentucky and we get them all to ourselves.
Watson Boys
It was so fun to see David! It had been a really long time since we had seen David. We were so happy that David and Dane stayed at Nana and Papa's with us. We had just seen Dane a few weeks before but you can never get to much of Dane. Kennedy talks about Uncle Dane all the time and was so happy to see both of her Dad's brothers.
Tess and Kennedy
We got to visit with the Werts during our trip to Portland. It was so fun to see Becky, Clete, and the kids. Tess and Kennedy were so funny playing with the dress-up clothes. These girls are only two weeks apart in age and could have really been a handful if they still lived close to each other. Maybe they will live together in college?!

Christmas Day 2007
Christmas morning was so fun this year. Zachary was so cute and excited about all of the gifts. He was so surprised, I think he was overwhelmed. Kennedy drove us crazy-she just wanted to look at Zach's gifts and didn't touch her gifts for a long time. The train table was a big hit! Kennedy wanted a High School Musical watch and shirt but was really happy with her bitty baby clothes and crib. Savannah loved her new books and music box. We had a wonderful 1st Christmas in our new house.
Christmas Eve 2007
Christmas Eve is a wild day at our house. We bake all day and in the evening drop off the yummy foods and sing a few Christmas carols. We end at the Norden's home, visit and eat. We come home to the Kappes house and Dad reads the Christmas story. After the Christmas story we open the new pj's Mom sews for all the kids and grandkids. My 4 younger brothers and all of the grandsons had matching construction pj's. It is so fun and we are lucky to have wonderful parents who continue all these traditions.
Kappes Family Party
We have a family party with my Dad's family the 3rd weekend of December each year. It is always so fun but the little children are starting to take over. The cousins exchange gifts with each other(they each have 1 name). Kolby's family gets to open the gifts from Grandma and Papaw before they leave. Kolby loved his shirt because of the Hot Moms Club he always talks about. Haley was so excited to finally get her singing Gabriella from Kennedy. The kids have a great time and it is so fun to have all 8 brothers and sisters together.

Kennedy's hair and pink clothes
Kennedy is always asking how old she will be when she can pick out her clothes and do her hair. I always say 16. Sometimes on days when we are staying home she will dress herself. She always picks the same pink shirt with flowers. The last few weeks she started adding the pink flower pants, pink socks, and shoes with pink flowers. She also tries to do her hair and was so proud that she remembered to put in a bow. I laugh and remember why I still get to do her hair and pick out her clothes. What can I say I am a control freak!
Savannah and Santa
Savannah' s class had a big Christmas party at a local fire station this year. Her class is for special needs children and it was so amazing to see how excited they got when Santa came for a visit on the firetruck. Kennedy was with me and got a little scared but Savannah loved the noise and went right up to Santa to get her gift.
